Make the Powerful Connection

The right connection is so important. Many of us know God, others have a relationship with Jesus, but several of us don't have a connection with the Holy Spirit.

"The world is not moved by love or actions that are of human creation. And the church is not empowered to live differently from any other gathering of people without the Holy Spirit. But when believers live in the power of the Spirit, the church cannot help but be different, and the world ccannot help but notice."

In the Bible...

The Holy Spirit was there from the beginning. The Spirit was not an afterthough, but the Spirit was with God and was God.

Genesis 1:1-2 (ESV)

"In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth. The earth was withou form and void, and darkness was over the face of the deep. And the spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters."

Jesus told His disciples that when He life, the Holy Spirit would be available to them. Jesus wanted to give them a helper. He said if I don't leave, the Holy Spirit won't be able to come.

John 14:25-27

25 "These things I have spoken to you while I am still with you. 26 But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he will teach you all things and bring to your rememberance all that I have said to you 27 Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you."

The Holy Spirit is a helper, a teacher, and the Spirit gives us peace.

What happens when we don't allow the Holy Spirit to work in every area of our lives:

Jude 1:17-19 (ESV)

"But you must remember, beloved, the predictions of the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ. 18 They said to you, "In the last time there will be scoffers, following their own ungoldy passions." 19 It is these who cause dicisions, worldly people, devoid of the Spirit."

So what do we do?

  • Build yourself up in the faith.
  • Pray in the Holy Spirit
  • Ask the Holy Spirit to help you all the time
  • Read in the Spirit and make that connection
